Collegiate DECA chapter has strong showing at national conference
Sixteen WCTC Collegiate DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) students attended the Collegiate DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) held April 19-22 in Anaheim, Calif.
The annual conference brings together Collegiate DECA chapters from two and four-year colleges and universities across the country and includes a mixture of professional development academies, competitive events, career exhibits and networking opportunities. Competitions are held in career fields such as business management, marketing, entrepreneurship, finance and hospitality.
Marketing program students Amanda Lancour, Anna Radewahn and Nick Sharafinski took home gold in the advertising campaign category – the same category the trio won at last year's ICDC event. Marketing program student Zachary Groeschl took home second place in the management institute.
This was longtime WCTC Marketing instructor and Collegiate DECA advisor Greg Schneider’s final conference. After 40 plus years of teaching, he is set to retire at the end of the semester.
