Small fire in outdoor vent unit contained
PEWAUKEE, Wis. (Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023) – Around 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, the Pewaukee Fire Department responded to a call from Waukesha County Technical College about a small fire that in a vent unit in the Industrial (I) Building on the main Pewaukee campus.
The fire has since been contained, and all students, faculty and staff were ordered to evacuate the building as a safety precaution. No injuries were reported.
>> PLEASE NOTE: As a precaution, Building I will be CLOSED for the remainder of today and all day tomorrow (Wed., Nov. 22). Students who have classes in Building I should check with their instructors as classes may be held virtually or rescheduled. Classes will continue to be held in all other campus buildings as usual tonight and tomorrow.
Additionally, WCTC campuses will also be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23 and 24, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
