Unboxing new tech at WCTC

TechEx Center opens for students, alumni and staff

There’s nothing quite like unboxing a brand-new piece of technology – whether it’s a new smartphone, tablet or laptop, the excitement never fades. With shiny, high-tech gadgets abound, the new TechEx (Technology Experience) Center hosted a grand ‘unboxing’ of their own on Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Located on the upper-level of the Business Building, the TechEx Center provides a one-stop-shop for the Apple® line of MacBook® and MacBook Pro® computers and iPad® and iPad Pro® tablets, Microsoft Surface Pros, Dell laptops and accessories like Beats® headphones, charging cables and cases.

The Center is an Apple Authorized Campus Store – making WCTC the first technical college in the state to receive the designation, and the third overall in Wisconsin. WCTC is just the ninth technical/community college in the country to receive the designation of an Apple Authorized Campus Store.

The Center provides education pricing discounts on Apple devices to students, alumni and staff – and each is eligible to purchase up to three desktops, notebooks and tablets per year. An education pricing discount is also applied to Microsoft and Dell PC devices. Financial aid can be used to purchase devices.
