PEWAUKEE, Wis. (Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019) – Waukesha County Technical College will celebrate its new Dental Hygiene/Dental Assisting Clinic at an open house Thursday, Sept. 26, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., at its new location inside the WCTC Waukesha campus, 327 E. Broadway.

Members of the community are encouraged to attend the event to tour the new facility, enjoy light refreshments, and visit with WCTC Dental Assistant and Dental Hygiene program students.

The new expanded clinic features nearly double the lab space as the previous Pewaukee campus clinic, additional patient chairs (30 fully equipped stations: 20 for Dental Hygiene and 10 for Dental Assistant), a dental assistant simulator classroom, general classrooms, student workroom, instrument sterilization room, general and patient conference rooms, file room, locker rooms, office spaces, and reception and waiting areas.

The clinic will continue to offer high-quality, affordable basic dental care, such as teeth cleanings, dental exams, blood pressure screenings, fluoride treatments and more.

“Our students are offering a wonderful opportunity to members of the community, and we’re hoping the downtown Waukesha location makes our services more accessible to those who need them,” said Lisa Nowak, associate dean of Dental, Medical Assistant and Health programs. “Our services are offered at an affordable price by our students, under the supervision of licensed dentists and registered dental hygienists.”

Planning for the comprehensive remodel began in fall 2017, with physical construction starting in February 2019. Construction wrapped up in late summer and students were able to use the new space in August on the first day of classes for the 2019-20 academic year.
