Waukesha County Technical College earns prestigious Government Finance Officers Association award

PEWAUKEE, Wis. (Thursday, July 18, 2019) – Waukesha County Technical College has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States for its comprehensive and annual financial report (CAFR).

This certificate of achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment reflects a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“The award recognizes Waukesha County Technical College as a leader in quality financial reporting and validates the efforts of the Financial Accounting Services team to properly report the financial health of the College,” said Kristine Golz, WCTC controller.

The CAFR is judged by an impartial panel and must meet several high standards, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and groups to read the report.

GFOA is a leading professional association servicing the needs of more than 20,000 appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government officials and other financial practitioners. It provides top-quality publications, programs, services and products designed to enhance the skills and performance of those responsible for government finance policy and management.
