PEWAUKEE, Wis. (Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018) – Waukesha County Technical College will host its first Early Childhood Education Career Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Building S on the main Pewaukee campus.

The event is designed to connect those in the early childhood education field – including recent and soon-to-be WCTC Early Childhood Education graduates -- with area employers looking to strengthen their staff and teaching programs.

“Graduates often come with new ideas and state-of-the-art-training in best practices in early learning,” said Joan Hader, associate dean of Education and Human Services at WCTC. “Joining established organizations known for their commitment to serving children and families allows them to contribute new ideas while also learning from mentor teachers, creating a win-win situation for everyone.”

The event will allow participants to meet representatives from more than 50 centers and connect with potential jobs. Positions employers are hiring for include infant, toddler and pre-school teachers; floater and support staff roles; lead teachers and assistants; general childcare, before- and after-school care providers among others.

The fair also will provide resources about WCTC’s Early Childhood Education associate degree program, which can be completed in either a traditional option (face-to-face classroom) or blended option (in-class and online) format. Additionally, representatives from WCTC’s Career Connections department will be on hand to provide information on career resources for those attending the fair.
