PEWAUKEE, Wis. (Friday, April 13, 2018) -- Waukesha County Technical College will host one of 12 general information sessions held throughout the state for contractors interested in bidding on work for construction of Foxconn’s Wisconn Valley Science & Technology Park project in Mount Pleasant, Wis.

  • The session is set for Thursday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to noon at WCTC’s main campus: 800 Main Street, Pewaukee; it will take place in the Business Building lecture halls, rooms B-115 and B-117.Pre-registration was required for the event; however, the April 19 event has reached capacity. More than 200 representatives from area construction companies are expected to attend.

The information sessions, led by Gilbane Building Co. – the general contractor for the project, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) and M+W Group, and are designed to provide potential subcontractors, suppliers and vendors with details on how they may be able to support the Foxconn construction project.

According to the WEDC, this will begin Phase 1 of construction work, which is anticipated to be site work, material procurement and temporary logistics preparation. Vertical building construction work will start in late 2018 or early 2019.

In late summer 2017, Foxconn representatives visited WCTC to host a two-day product showcase, which featured a variety of high-tech consumer electronics products such as monitors, mobile phones, television screens and tablets.
